Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan’s meetings in Latvia


On May 22 Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Latvia Tigran Mkrtchyan (residence in Vilnius) while on a visit to Riga had several meetings with the MPs of Latvia’s Saeimas.

The first meeting was held with the Chairman of the Public Expenditure and Audit Committee of the Latvian Parliament, member of the KPV LV party Kaspars Girgens, during which the possibilities of establishing the bilateral contacts and exchanging experience between the two parliaments were discussed.

During the meeting with the head of the Latvia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Deputy Secretary of the Latvian Parliament Marija Golubeva, Ambassador Mkrtchyan touched upon the forthcoming events being organised by the Embassy of Armenia. The interlocutors exchanged views on the invigoration of the bilateral relations between the two parliaments.

Throughout the meeting with the Deputy of the New Conservative party Linda Ozola, the sides discussed the possibility of organising high-level mutual visits and the readiness of Latvia to provide assistance in the reforms in the fields of justice initiated by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. In this regard, Linda Ozola expressed her support for the steps aimed at further deepening of the Armenian-Latvian bilateral relations as well as for the expansion of the mutual agenda.
