Event in Klaipeda dedicated to the 101st Anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia


On May 28 Armenian community ‘Van’ organised an event in Klaipeda National Minorities Culture Centre dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia. Ambassador of Armenia to Lithuania Tigran Mkrtchyan was present at the event.

The event started with the opening ceremony of personal exhibition of the renowned Armenian painter, member of The International Association of Art affiliated to UNESCO, veteran of the Artsakh war Artur Martirosyan.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan congratulated all the guests on the anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia noting that 101 years ago Armenia regained the independence due to the collective struggle of the Armenian people who stood up for the freedom of their country.

Presenting A. Martirosyan’s artistic path and his professional achievements, Ambassador Mkrtchyan marked that his paintings contain the color range of the Armenian nature.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan expressed his gratitude to Albert Albertjan, the head of the Armenian community of Klaipeda, for organizing this event and preserving Armenian identity, adding that the Armenian Embassy is always ready to become a part of all the initiatives of the community.
