Ambassador Ara Margarian’s Meeting with the Director of the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania

On May 11, Ambassador Ara Margarian, accompanied by Karapet Babayan, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Lithuania, and Araik Tunian, Head of the Union of Armenians of Lithuania, met with Dainius Babilas, Director of the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.

During the meeting, the Ambassador presented a number of issues related to the Armenian-Lithuanian bilateral agenda. In particular, he highlighted the events to be organized by the Embassy and the Armenian community in Lithuania, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Lithuania’s recognition of Armenia’s independence, and invited Mr. Babilas to participate in the planned events.

The parties also exchanged views on the activities of the Armenian community operating in Lithuania, as well as on support programs provided for national minorities.
