The Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Lithuania

On September 20, in New York, within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.

Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed his Lithuanian counterpart on the threat of ethnic cleansing of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh carried out by Azerbaijan, emphasising that Azerbaijan’s warmongering and aggressive behaviour not only jeopardizes the right of 120,000 people of Nagorno-Karabakh to live in their homeland, but also undermines efforts to establish stability in the region.

Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the importance of clear steps by international community and, in particular, the EU and its member states, to deter Azerbaijan and send a clear message by the world which shares democratic values and has defined the protection of human rights as a priority.
