Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan's meeting with the Latvian Minister of Defense

On October 7, Tigran Mkrtchyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Latvia during his working visit to Riga met with Artis Pabriks, Minister of Defense of Latvia.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented the large-scale aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh launched on 27th September by the Azerbaijani armed forces with the unconditional support of Turkey and jihadist terrorists, accompanied by a massive targeting of civilians and infrastructure.

Tigran Mkrtchyan, emphasizing Latvia's official position on the exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairmanship, also stressed the need for more targeted statements by friendly and partner countries towards the aggressor countries.

The Minister of Defense of Latvia Artis Pabriks thanked Ambassador Mkrtchyan for the meeting and presenting the point of view of the Armenian side, and once again stressing the official position of Latvia on unconditional cessation of hostilities and seeking solutions for the peaceful settlement of the conflict.

At the request of the Latvian Minister of Defense, Ambassador Mkrtchyan also presented details on the history of Nagorno Karabakh.
