Tree planting on the occasion of World Environment Day at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Lithuania

On June 5th, a tree planting dedicated to World Environment Day was held in the territory of the Embassy of Armenia in Lithuania.

Bishop Vardan Navasardyan, The Primate of the Armenian Diocese of the Baltic States, Darius Kvedaravičius, Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Environment, Raimundas Lopata, the Head of Armenia - Lithuania Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group, Karapet Babayan, honorary consul of the Republic of Armenia in Vilnius, MPs, and representatives of the Lithuanian-Armenian community attended to the event.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Lithuania Armen Martirosyan in his welcoming address mentioned that this symbolic gesture is a token of appreciation of the generosity of the Government of Lithuania for supporting the initiative of "10 Million Trees" and donating 10,000 birches to Armenia.

The Deputy Minister of Environment of Lithuania D. Kvedaravičius highly appreciated the initiative of the Embassy and expressed the readiness of the Ministry to support similar projects of the Embassy in the future.

The tree planting was preceded by Ambassador Martirosyan's meeting with the representatives of the Armenian community in Lithuania. In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador thanked the community for actively supporting all the initiatives of the Embassy since its establishment, and called for developing and implementing new ideas of cooperation for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia.
