The event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Sergey Parajanov's birth was organized in Lithuania.

On October 15, 2024, an event dedicated to the 100th birthday of the unique and famous filmmaker Sergey Parajanov was organized in Lithuania.

The event was held at the Zarasai Community Library in cooperation with the Embassy of Armenia, the community administration, and the library.

The event featured a photo exhibition titled "Sergei Parajanov: Life Like a Movie," showcasing photographs from various episodes of the artist's life.

During the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Lithuania, Ara Margarian, Director of the Zarasai Region Community Administration, Aurelius Banis, and the Director of the Library, Danutė Karlienė, delivered welcome speeches. Lucia Armonaite, the exhibition organizer, presented the complex yet colorful life of Sergey Parajanov and introduced his famous works of art.

The event was accompanied by traditional Armenian duduk music, performed by young musician Davit Avetisyan. Representatives from the municipal authorities of Zarasai and Visaginas, local community members, Lithuanian cultural organizations, artists, journalists, and students were in attendance.

At the reception following the event, traditional Armenian dishes and wine were served. Additionally, the Embassy donated books on Armenian culture, art, and history to the library.

The "Sergei Parajanov: Life Like a Movie" exhibition will remain open until November 18, 2024.
