A solemn event commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held at St. John’s Church in Vilnius on April 24. The event was organized by the Embassy of Armenia to Lithuania, in partnership with the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Lithuania and the Union of Armenians in Lithuania.

The ceremony opened with a prayer in memory of the Holy Martyrs, offered by His Grace Archbishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the newly appointed Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the Baltic States.

Ambassador Ara Margarian, in his keynote remarks, emphasized the enduring significance of remembrance and moral responsibility:
"The Armenian Genocide is not merely a chapter in human history—it is a warning long ignored. From the Holocaust to Cambodia, from Rwanda to Bosnia, Darfur to Myanmar, the consequences of forgetting are painfully clear."
"On this significant anniversary, we pay tribute not only to the holy martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, but also to the legacy of Raphael Lemkin—who believed that justice must follow atrocity, that truth must silence denial, and that 'Never Again' must be more than a slogan.
It must become a way of life—and a call to clear, decisive action."
"Let us stand together to reaffirm our promise—to educate, to protect, and to act.
Let us ensure the world not only remembers the Armenian Genocide, but also draws lessons from it.
And let us continue to uphold the sacred duty entrusted to us: to speak the truth in the face of silence, and to honor the memory of our ancestors—with dignity, determination, and hope."

The musical segment of the event featured works by Komitas Vardapet and other prominent Armenian composers, performed by the talented and promising young vocalist Tatev Baroyan (New York) and pianist Vardan Geodakyan (Gyumri–Kaunas)
