Meeting of Ambassador Ara Margarian with the Director General of the National Library of Lithuania

On 19 October 2026, H. E. Mr. Ara Margarian met with Aušrinė Žilinskienė, Director General of the National Library of Lithuania.

The meeting focused on opportunities to develop scientific, educational and cultural cooperation between Armenia and Lithuania, particularly by expanding cooperation between the two countries’ libraries.

Aušrinė Žilinskienė spoke about her visit to Armenia two weeks earlier and her meetings there, highlighting the significant potential for cooperation between the national libraries of the two countries.

Ambassador Margarian presented the Lithuanian edition of My Odyssey (Mano odisėja), a book by Antonina Povilaitytė-Mahari, wife of famous Armenian writer Gurgen Mahari, published on the initiative of President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.

In this context, the interlocutors discussed the possibility of organising a presentation of the book at the National Library of Lithuania in 2027.
